Privacy policy

This is a convenience translation. The German version (Datenschutzerklärung) is the legally binding text.

1. Controller

The controller responsible for processing personal data in connection with TV Horst is:

aplis AG
Ifangstrasse 11
8153 Rümlang ZH
Switzerland
Email: [email protected]
Phone: +41 44 442 42 72

2. Roles for content data

For account data, payment data and usage/technical data, the Provider is the controller. For content data that the customer uploads to the service and plays on their screens, the customer is the controller; the Provider processes that data solely on the customer’s behalf and instructions, as a processor. The customer is responsible for ensuring they are entitled to process the personal data they upload. For enterprise customers, the Provider will issue a data processing agreement on request — a message to the contact address above is enough.

3. What data we process

We process only the data needed to run the service:

4. Purposes of processing

We process this data to provide and operate the service, manage accounts and subscriptions, handle payments, communicate with you, ensure the security and stability of the service, and comply with legal obligations.

5. Processors and recipients

We share data only with carefully selected providers that help us run the service:

If the customer adds a YouTube video to a playlist, that video is loaded directly from Google’s (YouTube’s) servers during playback. Google thereby receives the IP address of the screen device and may set cookies. Google carries out that processing under its own responsibility; its privacy policy applies.

6. Transfers abroad

The infrastructure is operated from Switzerland. The application and database are hosted in the European Union, and uploaded media is stored with EU jurisdiction. Some providers are companies based in the USA (in particular the payment service provider Stripe); depending on the service, data may be processed outside Switzerland/the EU. Where personal data is disclosed to countries without an adequate level of data protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards, in particular the Standard Contractual Clauses. For transfers to certified US companies, the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework may additionally or alternatively apply.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described or to meet legal obligations. Account activity logs (the audit log) are deleted automatically after 90 days.

Cancelling a subscription does not by itself delete anything: the account and its content remain in place. If an owner deletes the organization, the associated accounts, content and uploaded files are deleted immediately and irreversibly, unless retention obligations apply. Please back up any content you need beforehand.

8. Your rights

Within the limits of applicable law, you have the right to access, rectify, delete and obtain your data, and the right to object to processing. To exercise these rights, contact the address above. You may also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

9. Cookies and local storage

The website uses no tracking or analytics cookies. In the dashboard, only technically necessary data (such as a login token) is stored locally in your browser to keep you signed in.

The player application on the screen device stores a device token locally, along with the most recently played content (playlist and images), so that playback continues if the internet connection drops. When YouTube content is played, Google may set cookies on the screen device (see section 5).

10. Changes

We may update this privacy policy at any time. The version published on this website at the relevant time applies.
